A new company – RIVERWORKS – has been formed by DUP’s Jay Tormohlen, John King and Darren Demetre (producer and assistant director for films such as TIN CUP with Kevin Costner, Coppola’s GODFATHER III and Bram Stoker’s DRACULA, etc.). With the support of the Oregon Film Board’s Susan Haley and OMPA’s executive director, Tom McFadden, Riverworks will seek to create a world class production facility that can serve the needs of local filmmakers as well as out-of-state productions drawn to Oregon by it’s beauty, diversity and incentive program. In addition, it aims to foster growth and learning by incorporating a school within the facility that allows for hands-on training in a truly professional environment. The objective is to become a production hub, turnkey facility modeled after sites such as LA Center Studios and Lantana in Southern California, but offer the pricing incentives. The facility would boast flexible office space and fully functioning production facilities.
